Definition¶

The change of a municipality’s name, while its boundaries remain unchanged.

Implication of the change¶

Before (year t):

Municipality A (with id 1¹) exists as a separate entity with its own name, id, and territory.

After (year t + 1):

Municipality A changed its name from A to B without changing its id.
